COLOMBO (News 1st) - The “Diviyata Saviyak” Housing Assistance Programme for children who have transitioned into the society after institutional care, as well as those identified as living in unsafe and vulnerable conditions, will be launched today.The programme will be inaugurated at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.Based on the vision of “A Dignified Life – A Secure Country”, outlined in the government’s policy statement “A Rich Country – A Beautiful Life,” the programme is being launched under the theme “A Strong Foundation For A Beautiful Life.”Under the 2026 Budget proposals, funds have been allocated to provide Rs.2 million per beneficiary for a total of 834 beneficiaries.
