COLOMBO (News 1st) - The death toll from the fatal road accident in Mattakkuliya last night has risen to three.According to police, the accident occurred when a car collided with several vehicles travelling along the road in the Mattakkuliya area.The car, which first rammed into a three-wheeler from behind, came to a halt only after colliding with three more three-wheelers and four motorcycles in a chain reaction.Residents who rushed to the scene immediately after the incident transported the injured to the Colombo National Hospital.Hospital sources said that 10 people are currently receiving treatment at the National Hospital.The driver of the car that caused the accident has been taken into police custody. The Mattakkuliya Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
