A person was shot and injured after allegedly attempting to attack two police officers with a sword while they were trying to check two men travelling on a motorcycle in Bokundara, Piliyandala, Police said. According to Police, the incident occurred when two officers attempted to stop and search the motorcycle. During the operation, the rider allegedly tried to attack the officers with a sword, prompting police to open fire. The injured suspect was admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital for treatment.
