The Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre has issued an advisory for strong winds and rough seas affecting sea areas from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle and Hambantota. The advisory, valid until 10.30 p.m. on 2 August, said the affected sea areas could become rough or very rough at times, with strong gusty winds reaching 55 to 65 kmph. Naval and fishing communities engaged in activities in these areas have been advised to remain vigilant and follow future weather updates issued by the Department of Meteorology. (Newswire)
