COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's primary international gateway, Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake, recorded a remarkable increase in passenger movement during the first six months of the year, with total passenger traffic surpassing 4.7 million.According to a statement issued by the airport, a total of 30,659 flight movements were recorded during the January to June period.During the first six months of the year, 1,146,573 tourists arrived in the country through Bandaranaike International Airport.The airport further revealed that 424,856 passengers used Bandaranaike International Airport as a transit hub for international travel during the same period.
