COLOMBO (News 1st) – An Angolan national has been arrested by the Bandaranaike International Airport Customs Narcotics Control Unit with cocaine worth Rs. 10 million.Sri Lanka Customs said the 54-year-old woman, who arrived in the country from Angola via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Doha, Qatar, was taken into custody.Travelling with the assistance of a wheelchair, she voluntarily handed over 14 capsules containing cocaine that she had concealed.According to Sri Lanka Customs, she also admitted to having swallowed drug capsules.The total weight of the capsules recovered from her body so far is 237 grams.Customs said efforts are underway to recover the remaining drug capsules from inside her body.The suspect and the seized drugs have been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.
