Several spells of showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in the Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts. Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Monaragala, Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 pm. Mainly dry weather will prevail over the other areas of the island. Strong winds of about 40-50 kmph can be expected at times over the Western slopes of the Central hills, Northern, North-central and Central provinces and in the Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.
