A 41‑year‑old man who drove part‑time as a hired motorcycle rider through an app was found murdered in Homagama, early yesterday (16). Police said the victim, a resident of Pitipana, had left home around 7.00 pm on July 15 to transport a passenger on a hired journey. His body was discovered the following morning, with post‑mortem examinations confirming he had been killed by a severe throat‑cutting. Investigators suspect the crime was committed inside a nearby auction land. The killers have fled with the victim’s motorcycle, gold chain, mobile phone, and wallet.
