The Sri Lanka Police is set to introduce a new mobile application designed to enhance public access to police services, under the directives of Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasooriya. The project, currently underway, will deliver a mobile app compatible with both iOS and Android platforms, alongside a newly developed official police website. The initiative aims to make police services more accessible through modern digital technology. Through the app, users will be able to receive updates, news, photographs, and videos published by the Police Media Division, with urgent information delivered via push notifications. The application will also provide access to essential services such as police clearance report applications, emergency contact numbers, and location‑based alerts during critical situations. The Police Information Technology Division is overseeing technical development, support, and maintenance. The software solution has been developed by private firm Vampior Design Software Development (Pvt) Ltd, while content management is handled by the Police Media Division. A progress review meeting was held at Police Headquarters yesterday, chaired by the IGP. Senior officers including Staff DIG Roshan Dias, DIG for Research and IT Nishani Seneviratne, SSP K.G.
