Minister of Transport and Highways Bimal Rathnayake has shared the progress following the cyberattack on the Sri Lanka Railways website, praising the technical teams for their swift response. “Even after thousands of cyberattacks targeted our newly launched website within just a few hours of going live, this is our progress. A massive thank you & deep appreciation to the team for their hard work, vigilance & swift action to keep our systems secure and resilient,” the Minister said in a post on ‘X’. An image of the dashboard shared by the Minister Rathnayake shows a total of 1530 requests, 1523 pending requests, and 1529 registrations for June 15. The progress has been shared after the official website came under attack on Sunday (14), affecting only the timetable system. As a precaution, the affected section was temporarily disabled while efforts were taken to rectify the damage and restore normal operations. At the time, Sri Lanka Railways officials said that the remainder of the website remains unaffected, and technical teams are working to bring the timetable system back online as soon as possible.
