COLOMBO (News 1st) - Police revealed that the raid in Kosgoda was carried out based on information that a group linked to an organised criminal known as Podi Patty was organizing a shooting.A group of police officers came under gunfire while conducting a raid in the Akavigoda, Kosgoda yesterday.Police Spokesperson ASP F. U. Wootler said a suspect was injured in return fire by the police.The injured suspect and another suspect were subsequently arrested.Police said a pistol and a revolver were also seized from their possession.
