COLOMBO (News 1st); A three-wheeler driver was shot dead Thursday (17) afternoon in a brazen shooting incident beneath the Dematagoda Black Bridge, police said.

Police Spokesman F.U. Wootler stated that the victim was a 50-year-old resident of Udugama, Galle.

According to police, the killing was carried out using a pistol.

Investigators suspect that the gunman may have been travelling in the rear seat of the three-wheeler before opening fire on the victim.

The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene following the shooting.
