COLOMBO (News 1st) - A 44-year-old businessman has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake with 668 grams of “Kush” narcotics valued at approximately Rs. 6.68 million. The arrest was made by Airport Customs officers during an inspection as the suspect attempted to leave the airport through the Green Channel, designated for passengers with nothing to declare. The suspect, a resident of Weligama in Matara, had arrived in Sri Lanka from Bangkok, Thailand.Customs officers discovered the Kush concealed in three separate bundles inside the side pockets of his trousers.The seized narcotics and the suspect are to be handed over to officers of the Katunayake Airport Police Narcotics Bureau for further action.
