COLOMBO (News 1st): During operations carried out so far this year, the Navy has taken into custody 256 kilograms and 200 grams of cocaine.The Navy announced that during the same period, 1,080 kilograms and 894 grams of heroin, 667 kilograms and 695 grams of Kerala cannabis, 590 kilograms and 806 grams of "Ice" (crystal methamphetamine), and 56 kilograms of hashish were also taken into its custody.The Navy stated that during surveillance duties carried out covering the sea area, a number of local multi-day fishing trawlers used for smuggling prohibited drugs into the country were also brought under the net of the law.
