A one-year-and-four-month-old girl has died after reportedly falling into a fish pond in front of a house in the Kottanthivu area of Puttalam. According to police, the incident occurred on Saturday (31) within the Udappuwa Police Division. The child, a resident of Periyapaduwa in Kottanthivu, was rushed to Kottanthivu Hospital following the incident but subsequently died. Her body has been transferred to the mortuary of Puttalam Hospital. Udappuwa Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
