Sri Lanka’s delivery landscape is about to take a different direction. Ting, a homegrown innovation-first platform, built for Sri Lankan ordering habits, will officially launch on 30 October 2026 in the Colombo district, introducing a new approach to food delivery designed around how people actually order together rather than how traditional delivery apps have operated. ‘Ting’ is part of Edine Services (Pvt) Ltd, a fully Sri Lankan-owned platform services company. Launching under the brand promise ‘Ting – the one ting for everything,’ the platform combines multiple firsts from day one, including multi-vendor ordering, built-in bill splitting, and a managed rider fleet, trained for consistent service quality, creating a more seamless experience for customers, merchants and riders. Unlike conventional delivery platforms that require separate orders from different restaurants, Ting’s multi-vendor capability allows customers to place a single order from multiple merchants and a multitude of categories within one basket, proceed to checkout and ability to track the experience through a single view. Whether it is a main meal from one restaurant, dessert from another and groceries for home, the platform removes the need to switch between multiple apps, payments and deliveries. Group ordering has also been designed as a core feature rather than an add-on. Customers can choose to have one person host the payment, split the bill equally among friends, or allow each person to pay only for what they ordered, while keeping the entire order together and delivered to one location.

Beyond the app experience, Ting is also introducing its own managed rider fleet from launch. Riders are trained in service and customer experience, equipped with branded gear, and supported through Ting’s dedicated Rider Hub. Service quality will be maintained through structured training and ongoing performance support, creating greater consistency for both merchants and customers. As the platform expands, Ting also plans to introduce opportunities for riders to join the platform on a freelance basis, providing greater flexibility for those looking to earn through delivery work. Nayanapriya Dias, Assistant General Manager, Business Operations and Marketing, Edine Services (Pvt) Ltd, said, “We set out to build a platform around the way Sri Lankans actually order today, together, across different preferences and with growing expectations for greater convenience. Ting brings these needs into one connected experience, providing merchants a more consistent and financially supportive commercial structure and riders a structured operating environment. Our ambition is to build a distinctly Sri Lankan platform which can continue to evolve with the market.”

The initial rollout will begin across the Colombo district, with additional platform developments and service enhancements, and geographic expansion set to follow as Ting expands its roadmap after thelaunch. With its official launch, Ting represents a new chapter in Sri Lanka’s homegrown digital delivery, introducing features designed to simplify everyday ordering while creating long-term value across the delivery ecosystem.
