Former State Intelligence Service Director retired Maj. Gen. Suresh Sallay was taken from the National Hospital in Colombo on Tuesday afternoon after completing treatment, following 119 days in hospital. A 10-member medical committee from the hospital informed the Colombo Magistrate’s Court that Sallay was fit to be discharged. Following the notification, Additional Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris informed court that Sallay would be taken back into the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department on Tuesday afternoon.
