A 21-year-old Tunisian tourist has died after being swept away while surfing off Weligama. Police said the tourist was surfing with a group of Tunisian nationals at the Parana Kade beach area in Weligama on Saturday (08) when he was caught in a current amid strong winds and went missing. Police lifeguards, Coast Guard personnel and private divers launched a search but were unable to locate him. His body was found washed ashore at the same beach on Sunday (09) morning.
